Embrace Being Unique

People spend their lives trying to fit in but it’s when you don’t fit that you are truly unique. Don’t ignore your gifts. ~ Marala Scott

When I see a piece of art what catches my attention is the uniqueness that it offers.  I love when the expression comes from the soul. The beauty of life is that we’re individuals and every piece of art that makes up our personality is what makes each of us unique. Too often we work to suppress who we are to try and fit in. We want to be accepted as being like others but what does that mean? It means sacrificing who you are only to be less than you were created to be. Understand that when you have to try to fit in it’s because you don’t and you should be okay with that. Be authentic. Love the quirky little things you do that make you laugh. Celebrate your passion and share it with the world. Dive into your creativity without regrets and do it with unyielding fire. Trying to belong to something that wasn’t created for you is denying yourself of the gifts that were designed and handed to you by God. Challenge yourself to bring something unique to this world by being the real you. Leave your imprint, not one belonging to someone else and embrace being unique.

I just had to reblog this! I don’t ever “fit in” to groups of people because I don’t know how to be anything but my authentic self, and so I just thought that I would pass this post onto all of my readers out there who may be struggling to accept their genuine personas. ❤ Love you guys!

  2. This is my first time reading your blog, and I am IN LOVE with the message behind this post. I’ve always been different from those around me. I’ve tried to “follow the crowd” in my past and even then I still didn’t quite fit. I used to look at that and feel alone and worthless, but now that I have God I see that I was created to stand out and play a role in this life that takes massive creativity, a dynamic personality, and the boldness to be a leader. I am blessed now that I know that I need not be ashamed for who I am!

  13. Great advice. The key to accepting one’s uniqueness is that you must like who you are and be willing to stand alone at times. But what you will often find is that when you let go of those who do not accept who you are after the aloneness there will be those that are a better fit for you. You ca only be the best you that you are :).

  14. I love this post because i like that I am unique. I dont follow other fashion, I follow my own and I love who I am. Thank you for sharing this!

  15. Society has made it difficult for an individual to be unique. We are always conforming. I think the acceptance of inner beauty and different characteristics is improving, but the we have a long way to go! We have to really believe that our differences, be it looks, thoughts, religion, the way we talk, or what ever, have true value and then we will stop trying to be like everyone else.
